BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne softball program today announced Kelby Mann, Tylene Middleton and Baillie Trumble as new members of the 2010 recruitment class.
Kelby Mann of Valley Mills, Tylene Middleton of Early and Baillie Trumble have met all HPU admissions requirements and decided to continue their playing careers at Howard Payne University this next fall.
Kelby Mann is a 2009 graduate of Valley Mills High School in Valley Mills, Texas, Kelby is a four-year letterman in softball. She was named to the Super Cen-Tex Team two season and 1st-Team All-District four consecutive years. Kelby was also named a United States Marine Corp. Distinguished Student-Athlete in 2009.
Last season she played for Cisco College in Cisco, Texas. Kelby is majoring in Education with a minor in Exercise and Sport Science. She is planning to teach and coach while working on her Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology after graduation.
Tylene Middleton is from Early High School in Early, Texas. A four-year letterman, she has helped her high school team to four consecutive
playoff appearances. She was District MVP 2009 and 2010 as well as a four-time All-District selection. Named to the All-Big Country team she is also an All-State selection in 2008 and 2010.
She will be majoring in Exercise and Sport Science and plans to go to physical therapy school after graduation.
Baillie Trumble is a graduate of Granbury High School in Granbury, Texas. She lettered all four years and received All-District honors during those four years. Her Junior and Senior year she received First team All-District. She was also awarded Academic All-State.
Baillie was awarded Grayson County College's Greek society Phi Theta Kappa because of her GPA. Her major is Biology and after graduating she plans on attending dental school.
