RICHARDSON, Texas - Howard Payne sophomore guard Brandon Irwin was named this week's American Southwest Conference West Division player of the week.

Howard Payne sophomore guard Brandon Irwin (Thorndale, TX / THS) averaged 27.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals over two conference wins. Irwin, who shot 65.5 percent from the floor and hit 14 of 17 free throw attempts, dropped in 30 points to fuel a win over Schreiner. He is third in the league in scoring at 18.5 points per game.
