Softball Has First Commit For 2010 Class

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne softball program announced today the commitment of Cypress Creek high school senior Jacki Heffernan to the Lady Jacket softball program.

Jacki Heffernan has met all HPU admissions requirements and decided to continue her player career at Howard Payne University this next fall. 

“We are excited about the consistency she will bring in both offense and defense to our lineup for 2011,” said head coach Jose Mata. “She is a great fit to our program.” 

Jacki has been an All-District selection from her freshman through her junior years and should be a standout again for Cypress Creek HS. Playing outfield, 3rd base, designated hitter, and relief pitching, her high school has made the playoffs three consecutive years and gained one Co-District Championship. 

She also plays outfield for the Texas Sudden Impact Gold travel team under head coach Connie May. Jacki is involved with the FFA program at her high school as well.
