Lady Jackets Go 2-1 At UDallas Tournament

IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team went 2-1 this weekend at the University of Dallas Tournament and finished out the 2009 season.
Howard Payne picked up 3-0 wins over Arlington Baptist College and Rust College but fell to host University of Dallas 1-3 in the final match on Saturday.
In the final match versus UDallas HPU dropped the first game 22-25 but won the second soundly 25-13. The Lady Jackets were unable to get anything going in the third and fouth dropping thise games 13-25 and 22-25.
Amanda Gutierrez and Tamika Heline led HPU on the weekend with 33 and 31 kills respectively. Gutierrez had a .482 kill pct in the three matches.
For the weekend, Heline added 11 service aces with 21 digs. Cathie Kilmartin had 5 total blocks. Kristin Hammond and Sydney Bryant had 19 and 18 digs respectively.
Howard Payne finishes the season at 12-17 overall and 8-10 in American Southwest Conference play.
