HPU Dispatches Sul Ross In Three

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team defeated Sul Ross State University in three games (25-16,25-11,25-20) in American Southwest Conference action Monday night.
The Lady Jacket had a .239 attack pct while Sul Ross State only managed .023 pct. Sul Ross committed 7 ball handling errors.
Amanda Gutierrez led HPU with 14 kills, four total blocks, and a .500 attack pct. Tamika Heline added 9 kills. Amy Cardwell had 18 assists.
It was senior day and Sydney Bryant, Melanie Cain, Amy Cardwell, and Amanda Guteirrez were honored inbetween games two and three.
Howard Payne improves to 9-16 overall and 7-10 in ASC play, while Sul Ross falls to 1-22, 0-16 in ASC action.
The Lady Jackets will play again at home this Thursday against Concordia Texas in the home season finally.
