HPU pre-season #13 in the nation

D3HOOPS.COM – The defending NCAA III National Champions Howard Payne Lady Jackets were pre-season picked #13 by the D3hoops.com Top 25 pre-season poll.

The Lady Jackets finished 33-0 last season and had the NCAA III Player of the Year, Meia Daniels, and NCAA III National Coach of the Year, Chris Kielsmeier.

Howard Payne is already the pre-season pick to win the American Southwest Conference title this season and currently holds the longest active winning streak in collegiate basketball.

The Lady Jackets will open up the 2008-2009 season in Colorado Springs, CO at Colorado College on November 21, 2008. Howard Payne will also have an exhibition game at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls on November 11, 2008. The first home game will be on November 29, 2008 versus LeTourneau University.

The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.
